It’s a story of adventure and misadventure, of\u003cbr\u003esnow science and avalanches, of the day-to-day triumphs and defeats of extended field\u003cbr\u003eexpeditions to the world’s highest mountains. A story of three summers spent\u003cbr\u003enavigating an unfamiliar culture, and Fes’s growing affection toward the impoverished\u003cbr\u003einhabitants of one Himalayan valley. A story of being thrown unexpectedly as a young\u003cbr\u003eman into a leadership role, and of Fes’s struggle to remain connected with the love of\u003cbr\u003ehis life at home.
